This allows users to determine time and timing over the course of a day. Its concave hemispherical shape enables more accurate shadow representation. A solar term line is also present, allowing users to know not only time but also date. The spacing between these lines is not uniform, indicating that Earth's speed in orbit around the sun varies due to its elliptical path.
