The Tao Temple site is located in Xiangfen County, and was surveyed again in 2001 as part of the "Chinese Civilization Exploration Project" to discuss its origins. The excavations established the "Tao Temple culture," which dates back between 2600-2000 BC. This discovery has significant implications for understanding Chinese civilization's origins and the formation of a nation. In area H3403, an almost broken flat-mouthed vessel was found with two characters written in vermilion ink. Based on these writings, it is clear that one character is the "wen" character commonly seen in oracle bones and bronze inscriptions.
