Caishen, God of Wealth, a Chinese Box Twig Carving by Master Craftsman Liang Fengzhu in 2002. The artwork is currently on display at the Liang Fengzhu Art Museum in Hengyang, South China. Dimensions: Height 29 cm (11.4 in), Width 26 cm (10.2 in) Caishen is a mythical figure revered in Chinese folk religion and Taoism. He has been associated with several historical figures who are believed to be his incarnations, including Zhao Gongming, Fan Li, and Bi Gan. A large temple dedicated to Caishen was built in the 2000s in Zhouzhi, Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. His name is frequently invoked during Chinese New Year celebrations. Caishen is often depicted riding a black tiger and holding a golden rod. He may also be shown with an iron tool that can transform stone and iron into gold.
