福德祠(草堆橫巷)
sketchfab
The grass heap street is a narrow alleyway that connects the old pharmacy at 80 West Street to the street in front of the gate. The grass heap street was originally an extended riverbank dock, while the grass heap alley was sandwiched between it and the street in front of the gate, built on natural riverbanks by deep excavation, cutting, filling, and leveling. Its destiny is predetermined to be a winding and narrow path with uneven terrain on both sides, making it inevitable for passersby to experience ups and downs. Originally, there was a shoe store at the entrance of the grass heap alley, owned by residents from Stone Gate Street, Gate Street, and Grass Heap Street who pooled their resources together. The greedy tenant plotted to snatch ownership of the business that belonged to everyone, entangling with residents for over ten years. After the storm subsided, residents who had defended their blood-sweat investment erected a monument to commemorate it, demonstrating the collective spirit of the community and their determination to protect public property.
