Nara City Kōhata-cho is famous for its granite statue of Buddha. From the sleeping Buddha, a steep cliff rises, and on it, a row of polished stone statues of Buddha stands. Each statue sits on a lotus throne and measures about 48 cm in height. A bronze staff-holding Bodhisattva, known as Jizo, is third from the right and stands out due to the protruding rock face. To its right is the Medicine Master Buddha holding a medicine jar, followed by the Buddha of Enlightenment and then the Amida Buddha on the left. This unique arrangement includes the fallen Great Sun Buddha. Based on style, it is believed to have been created during the Nanbokucho period.
