Source: New Taipei City's Dahan Ancient Ruins Museum Size: 60x30x10cm Material: Stone Age: Qing Dynasty, Kangxi period 5th year Description: The monument is a round tombstone known as the "Huang Gong Guo Shi Yuan" Monument. It was registered as a general antiquity in 2013 and is currently stored in a warehouse. Legend: The monument was erected by Huang Wai's daughter, Huang Yeh, in the 5th year of the Qing Dynasty (1666), to honor her deceased mother, Huang Shi. At that time, tombstones were often inscribed with the current emperor's name, but this one bears the title "Huang Ming," signifying that while living under the Qing dynasty, one's heart remains pure and true. Reason for registration: 1. The inscription on the monument reveals the history of Tamsui District dating back to the Ming Zheng regime, holding historical significance. 2. It also serves as evidence of the social status of women during the Ming Zheng period in northern Taiwan, where men were valued over women and mothers relied heavily on their daughters for support. 3. Currently, there are few monuments from this time period remaining in northern Taiwan, making this one a valuable addition to the historical record and a rare find.
