Nowadays, the idol wall and Wa Sing Ave Old Street are connected at both ends, forming a single road. The layout of their streets mirrors that of the grassy slope to the south, forming a curved shape on the map. However, in the past, the intersection between the idol wall and Wa Sing Ave Old Street was a crossroads, so each side had its own name. But now it's all changed because No 20 House occupies the entrance to the Alleyway. When No 20 House was built years ago, it was a two-story high building that was definitely the new star of the old street, shining brightly behind a true idol called Fu De Zheng Shen. However, the poor idol had shrunk away into a cold alleyway, leaning against wooden boards and sighing at the dwindling incense offerings. During World War II, Macau residents lived in hiding under the dark clouds, watching with sorrow as the distorted prosperity unfolded. To keep one's own patch of land safe, people were often looked down upon. After the war, wealthy individuals gradually left, leaving behind many abandoned and dilapidated shops. The fireworks industry also faded away in the blink of an eye, struggling to survive as the common folk grew weary and grey. Time turned cold but suddenly became warm again, with clothing and accessories becoming fashionable once more. People smiled brightly at their own reflections, unaware of the hardships they had faced. MACAU looked up to them, admiring even the smallest creative ideas that brought big hopes. The textile, gaming, and construction industries took advantage of the opportunity, driving economic growth forward. In 1976, an ice cream vendor turned entrepreneur rebuilt No 19C Building at the entrance to the idol wall and also relocated Fu De Zheng Shen to in front of No 20 House on the corner of two streets. Macau, along with the Earth God, had arrived at a critical juncture where they were trapped under dark clouds. As the population grew following economic growth, plain houses like those in Wa Sing Ave Old Street became fat and prosperous, transforming into tall buildings. The idol wall, however, was no exception, losing its charm and becoming ordinary. Its appearance deteriorated so much that I, a cultural worker, am shocked to see the ancestral home within the walls, even my father couldn't recognize the path back home! From one end of the street to the other, only No 20 House remains, with its faded color and white hair, accompanied by Fu De Zheng Shen's youthful appearance. It asks passersby who come seeking their ancestral homes, "Where are you from? Where are you going?"
