Zhang Zhongjing (circa 150-154 AD – circa 215-219 AD), whose name was Ji, and style Zhongjing, was a renowned physician from Nan Yang in South Han Dynasty. He is revered as the God of Medicine by later generations. Zhang Zhongjing collected a wide range of medical prescriptions, which he compiled into the monumental "Discussion on Cold Damage and Miscellaneous Diseases." This treatise established the fundamental principle of diagnosis and treatment in Chinese medicine, which remains the backbone of clinical practice to this day.
