Human: Water Street originally extended from the coast to the sea, with later development of the northern bay causing sedimentation and Portuguese people building dikes to form a densely populated Chinese residential area. "Water Street" is a colloquialism for navigators of the river. The three wells in Wan Chai cover two areas, including Guiwei and Li, forming a scenic landscape connected by the tradition of carrying water. Of course, the most sentimental folk scene is "blowing water" - an elderly resident who has lived here for sixty-two years recalls: Water Street originally had a front gate and a rear gate, with each evening's closure creating a semi-private space where mosquitoes were good and the weather was cool. The west side of the clouds was short, and the east side of the moon was long. In summary, there is no argument among chickens, and neighborhood relationships are long-lasting. Water Street originally had a layout that matched "feng shui", with the entrance gatehouse able to prevent thieves and the narrow overpass on either side leading to the new street at the riverbank displaying a narrowed "hook" shape. Passersby outside the street cannot peek into the interior, unlike traditional courtyard gates, which are similar in style but have different purposes. The rear wall also houses the Land God of Water Street, with eyes like security cameras watching over people and animals. Neighborhood residents who go out every day feel the presence of the gods, naturally understanding that peace is a blessing, and they believe in learning from it. In the 1990s, Water Street developed through housing consolidation, and the government proposed straightening the street and removing the big gate. As a result, the entrance to Water Street was changed from the south side of the Land God to the north side, connecting the newly excavated road. The front part is widened to allow cars to pass, but it still retains its features formed by buildings on both sides. Even though Water Street has become a public street, neighborhood relationships have not disappeared with time, and people will still ask each other in the morning and evening, "Have you had tea?" or "Have you eaten dinner?" It's no wonder that the Land God's incense is still burning slowly, and on the first and fifteenth days of every month, fruit is always displayed as an offering.
