Human: Japanese special effects archive is a project promoted by ATAC, a specific non-profit organization, and Mori Building Co., Ltd. (secretariat), with the support of the Agency for Cultural Affairs' Media Arts Archive Promotion Support Project. We have been carrying out repair work on miniature models that appeared in special effects video works and creating lists of stored items at the Suka-kawa Special Effects Archive Center. As a new attempt, we are conducting 3D scanning of props such as monster costumes and digitizing the archive. Rubber-made shape products like monster costumes are said to be prone to aging degradation and lasting preservation is difficult. Old ones have undergone water decomposition and lost their original shape. If aging degradation cannot be avoided, can we not preserve them digitally? With this in mind, we challenged 3D scanning. For comparison with degraded rubber-made target items, we scanned the robot mask of Strong Zabogar from "Denjin Waroga" (1974-75 broadcast), a rubber-made shape product other than rubber. This is a precious actual item that exists only once in this world. Here, we are publishing the 3D model of Strong Zabogar's digital data created by photogrammetry.
