Русский канонир конной артиллерии
sketchfab
Russian Army field artillery was divided into infantry and cavalry divisions. Cavalry artillery was designed to support cavalry in battle, as well as form a mobile artillery reserve. Artillery personnel in cavalry artillery were trained not only to maintain equipment but also to fight on horseback. Guards cavalry artillery wore kiver instead of helmets, had Cossack-style trousers, and carried sabers as sidearms. At the Battle of Borodino, the 1st Company of the Imperial Guard Cavalry Artillery fought in a battle on the left flank near Semenovskiy Heights and Semenovskoe village, while the 2nd Company played a crucial role with the Imperial Guard Cavalry Regiment and the Cavalier Guards Regiment in repelling a massive Napoleonic cavalry charge against the Russian center at around three o'clock.
