Градската баня в Плевен
sketchfab
The city bath in Pleven was completed in 1908 and is the work of architect Nikola Lazarev. The architecture has been strongly influenced by Arab style. Today, some people still call it the Turkish bath, even though it was built a long time after liberation, but on this site there used to be a Kurshum mosque. Architect Lazarev builds the facade with oriental and Moorish elements on the overall colorful structure of Byzantium's white and red rows. The ornaments around the windows are an example of nationalism. You can compare it to the Synagogue in Sofia, built at the same time by architect Grünnanger. In 1984, Svetlin Rushev gave 322 works from his own collection to his hometown. The municipality of Pleven provided the most suitable shelter for this exceptional gift - the unique building of the former city bath, which is a monument of culture with national significance. In 1999, Svetlin Rushev donated another 82 graphic works.
