Σπύρος Μουστακλής / Spyros Moustasklis

Spyros Mustaklis (1926 - April 28, 1986) was a Greek military officer with significant anti-dictatorial activity. He was brutally tortured by the Junta of the Colonels, resulting in his paralysis. After his death, he was posthumously promoted to General and his name was given to the center of new recruits in Messolonghi (2/39 Evzones Regiment). A statue of him also stands at the former EAT-ESA prisons (now Liberty Park) in Athens and on Tsiropina Square in Hermoupolis.
