No one knows exactly when humans first appeared on Earth. Scientists think they might have originated around 6 million years ago from apes that lived in Africa. Over time, these early humans evolved into different species, some of which were bigger and stronger than others. One of the earliest human-like creatures was called Sahelanthropus tchadensis. It had a brain that was much smaller than modern humans', but it could still walk upright on two legs. This ability allowed it to cover long distances in search of food and shelter, giving early humans an advantage over other animals.
