A protective mounting spot for the outdoor part of a doorbell system by Gira (Türstation AP 3fach). Even though the device itself is supposed to be IP44, after six years the microphone broke. We discovered that both the microphone/speaker unit as well as the buttons had received more than a fair share of rain due to the placement at an exposed roofless pillar. To prevent this from happening to the replacement part as well, we designed this carrier which provides some protection from the top and the sides and includes a drip edge.
