The bushing is designed to be printed around a 6301z bearing. You are required to pause the print before your printer begins working on the lip that will seal in the bearing. This can be done by inserting two lines of code right after the command to raise the Z axis like so: G1 X0 Y0 ; move print to a more approachable position M226 ; Gcode initiated Pause or Wait for pin state in Marlin If your printer is a Marlin or the firmware is setup as one the M226 command should be omitted in favor of: G1 X100 F50 ; move the printhead to X100 at 50mm/min This will give you two minutes to insert the bearing into the cavity. The "leaves" create an intereference fit which can be adjusted by changing the parameters in the SolidWorks Part file, In here it is also possible to change the tolerances of the bearing, diameter of the rod and the resting lip. If the bearing is cold the extruded filament will curl up. Post-Printing After the print is completed insert the bushing into a vise so the inner part cannot move. This helps you in drilling it out to fit whatever size rod you intend to insert. The .STL file is built to support a ~8mm rod. When done the bushing can be removed from the vise and inserted into the desired roll of filament. The leafs are intended to "give" as the diameter is slightly large than the spool hole, causing an interference fit. This will be a very snug fit. Category: 3D Printer Accessories
