Éléphant publicitaire
sketchfab
This mechanical cardboard advertisement for cigarette paper, The Nile brand, was created around 1935. Made from embossed, colored and silvered cardboard, it is in working condition. Joseph Bardou, a cigarette paper manufacturer, chose an elephant as the representative animal for his new brand, The Nile, due to its strength and longevity. At the end of the 19th century, everything related to tobacco was closely tied to the orientalizing fashion that swept all of Europe since 1830, and the elephant fit perfectly into this style. Inventory number: P-2015.0.156 from the Paper Museum - The Nile (16 - France). See the entry in our online database. 3D digitization: Spider scanner - Artec3D
