I'm designing a spool holder that's heavily influenced by Thing 972607 on Thingiverse. The original design impressed me with its simplicity and functionality, so I decided to build upon it. My version features the same sturdy base and adjustable tension system, but with a few key tweaks to improve performance. The first change I made was to increase the height of the spool holder to allow for easier access and better visibility. This is especially useful when working with larger spools or those that have a lot of cord sticking out. By raising the holder, you can easily see what's going on without having to strain your neck. I also modified the tension system to make it more intuitive and user-friendly. Now, you simply need to turn a small knob to adjust the tightness of the spool holder. This makes it easy to get the perfect amount of tension every time, which is essential for preventing tangles and jams. Another improvement I made was to add a small lip around the edge of the spool holder. This prevents the spool from slipping or falling off when you're not using it, giving you peace of mind knowing that your project will stay organized and safe. The material I used for this design is durable and long-lasting, making it perfect for heavy use in the workshop or on the go. Whether you're a seasoned maker or just starting out, this spool holder is sure to become a trusted companion in your creative endeavors.
