ZYYX Fan Duct

ZYYX Fan Duct

I needed a faster filament cooling system when printing PLA on my ZYYX 3D printer, so I chose to switch to a centrifugal fan. Building the duct was not an easy task because of very limited space all the way down through the extruder carriage and further down to the hotend/nozzle, which is why the design is slightly awkward and not extremely efficient. If the duct gets too close to the build plate, use an exacto knife to carefully shorten it at the bottom. The duct should fit securely in place as should the fan when mounted. It's crucial to note that even though the motherboard has a 24V output, ZYYX uses a 12V fan. Therefore, if you're going to use a 12V version of the new fan, everything will be fine, but if you opt for the 24V version, you'll need to remove the resistors (see picture) to get the most out of your new fan! Check the link to both the 12V and 24V version fans in the BOM section.
