ZX Spectrum +3 - External FDD Enclosure

thingiverse

This is a custom FDD enclosure designed specifically for the ZX Spectrum +3 computer series. Two distinct versions have been created, one with enhanced structural support and another without any supplementary reinforcement. On the rear of each design, two openings are strategically placed to accommodate 6mm diameter switches that enable users to select between the floppy drive units A or B, as well as choose which side of the floppy disk is read (A or B). Additionally, an 8mm diameter hole is included for connecting the power source to the floppy drive. To ensure a smooth transition when assembling the enclosure's two parts, a precise gap of 1mm in thickness is formed at the rear section. This gap allows the 34-pin cable to exit without any obstructions.
