The USS Zumwalt (DDG-1000), the first ship of its kind in the United States Navy, is a guided missile destroyer that leads the Zumwalt class and bears the name of Admiral Elmo Zumwalt. The vessel possesses stealth capabilities, with a radar cross-section similar to a fishing boat despite its large size. On 7 December 2015, preparations for sea trials commenced in anticipation of joining the Pacific Fleet. The ship's commissioning took place on 15 October 2016 in Baltimore, with San Diego, California serving as its homeport.
