ZU-23-2 towed version (Russian)
thingiverse
I weighed the pros and cons of basing it on the ZU-23-2 in firing position, but since all the files are distinct (the gun is in a traveling attitude, and the carriage has separate wheels), I opted for something entirely new. This 1:76 scale model is a rendition of the Russian ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft gun in towed configuration. It's heavily modified from Archedyne's SketchUp library contribution (big thanks to them), making it printable, albeit a bit finicky, and suitable for wargaming or as a scale model. My design process mirrored earlier efforts, with SketchUp used to segment the design, and 3D Builder employed to correct errors and add reinforcement. I'm grateful to AutoCAD and Microsoft for providing these tools. After double-checking, I'm confident in the dimensions, and the model looks great. However, aligning the wheels wasn't ideal; I might revisit this later. Next up is creating a towing vehicle, as the Land Rover, though spotted in this role in some African countries, isn't quite suitable for the task. I hope you find this interesting. Enjoy!
