Zotskappen LED light cube

It's almost Carnaval time, and I thought it would be a blast to create a lamp out of our carnaval club's logo. Here's how I did it, and you can make your own too. I used a design from Thingiverse that had a super simple click-together system - it worked like a charm! The design is available here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3373014 Next, I loaded the design into Tinkercad and removed the top layer to give myself a smooth surface to work on, while keeping the nice click system on the bottom. I also changed the bottom side of the tiles, which had markers showing where each part went - not necessary for my design, so I made it smooth. Then, I downloaded our carnaval club's logo (Mardi Grass) and removed all the colors in Paint, leaving only the logo in black. This took me over two hours to do, but it was worth it! I saved the logo as a PNG file and converted it to an SVG file using this website: https://image.online-convert.com/convert-to-svg - no settings changed. Next, I loaded the SVG into Tinkercad and added text around the logo, including our club's name and hometown. I scaled it to the right size and pulled it up to its own height of 1 mm and width of 5 mm, making it the new top layer of the cube tiles. I thought we needed a bit more light, so I added two stars on each side - not only did they give us light, but they also gave the box a nice glow. To make it even better, I added flexible LED strips around a post that's 60 mm high and 25 mm in diameter. The strips already have a sticky backside, so wrapping them around was easy. The LED strips I used can be found here: https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/USB-Powered-DC-5V-LED-Strip-light-2835-RGB-White-Warm-White-Waterproof-Tape-LED-Lamp/32820847212.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dPa6DhO - they come with a remote control and cost almost nothing, and they're full-color. On one of the tiles, I made a small hole in the right-hand corner to guide the LED light's cable through. When all the printing is done, I take one tile (not the one with the hole) and glue the post into it. Then, I carefully push the sides together, and voila - the cube with lights and club logo is ready! Of course, it's not perfect, but it'll do for what I wanted. Feel free to strip the logo from the side of the cube tiles and add your own design to make your own cube light. I printed everything without supports, rafts, or brims in a resolution of 0.2 mm using white PLA as the base color - it's best for letting the light through. I used black PLA on top, but you can use any fancy color you like. The original cube I made with Extrafill Galaxy Vertigo came out nice too. You'll need five cube tiles without a hole and all the other files - total printing time will be around 16 hours at full speed. Don't worry if it doesn't look smooth in the pictures - when you turn on the lights, it's really cool! Have fun printing your own cube!
