Zorum's Knight of Egypt with customizable support
thingiverse
This is a collection of integrated supports designed to help print Zorum's amazing Knight of Egypt model. I've included an STL file that contains both the knight and the supports, as well as another one with just the supports alone for multi-nozzle printing. It provides support under the chin and all other overhangs on the body. (If you only want the chin supported, alex_belov created a neat chin rest for it; thing:2040669.) I also added a structure in front of the head that slows down the top of the print, preventing the ears from overheating during the last stage of printing. Each support connects to the body with interfaces designed to be one extrusion width wide, making them easy to remove. I've included the Fusion 360 file so you can adjust the thickness of the supports to fit your nozzle and print size. There's a custom parameter called "thickness" that adjusts all interface zones at once. By default, the file has 0.45mm thick supports, which is suitable for 0.4mm nozzles printed at 100%. If you want to print it at 200%, you can open the Fusion 360 file and change the thickness to 0.225mm. Then when you scale it up in your slicer, you'll be back at 0.45mm, and you'll get a single extrusion line. You may need to turn on single-wall extrusions in your slicer to ensure they print. Check the contact points carefully in the preview before printing. The supports will simply pull off after printing, but for the best results, separate the support sections at the base and remove them individually with flush cutters or a knife. The print shown in the photos was printed at 140% with 0.12mm layer height in carbon fiber PLA.
With this file you will be able to print Zorum's Knight of Egypt with customizable support with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Zorum's Knight of Egypt with customizable support .
