Important For a completely revised version, move here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2797152 After some tests with the beautiful D6 blower fan upgrade by ZincBoy (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1666096) on my Zortrax M200, I decided to remix his design to better fit my printer. I think ZincBoy has tilted the fan for some reason, perhaps to improve airflow. But after a test with the blower positioned parallel to the heat sink, I did not detect any noticeable differences. I don't own the D6, but the original shroud doesn't fully exploit the cooling fins, so I increased the lower opening to expand the area hit by air flow. The radial fan to be used is the BFB0412HHA-A that you can order from digikey, mouser etc. The fan is locked in place with #3 wood screws. You need also a 12V regulator because the M200 sends a voltage spike which destroys the fan during startup and also because the operating voltage is beyond the specification of the BFB0412HHA-A. I've opted for the Pololu D24V5F12 (https://www.pololu.com/product/2846), a 12V/500mA switching step-down regulator well-known by fpv racing drones users. It's located between the shroud and the fan, in a dedicated housing. Its wiring shouldn't be a problem. Even with the step-down, the fan power supply isn't linear stabilized, so you need a capacitor on the step-down input to have steady 12V. See below for wiring. Here are some shots of capacitor wiring. Kapton tape Pay attention on the capacitor polarity. Important: close it all with a heat shrinkable tube. Step-down wiring
