Zortrax M200 Carbon Fiber Platform

Note: I designed this mod for my M200 V4 with meticulous measurements on the original machine. The fit/geometry came out perfect, so I'm excited to share the DXF file for free download. However, please note that it may or may not be compatible with your version of M200. COREQUISITE: Z-Sense Bed Height Control is required and available from "z-temp.co". Note 2: The metal clips are outside the build volume and print head travel range, making them completely safe. Ensure that whatever size clips you use do not interfere with movement. The stock Zortrax V2 platform has significant drawbacks: - It warps heavily even with regular maintenance and underside cleaning. - The electrical contact mechanism is unreliable, failing to work with steel nozzles for example. - Scraping off prints requires removing the entire platform, which is awkward, heavy, scalding hot, and puts stress on connectors. - Tiny plastic particles are scattered everywhere, making it easy to hurt yourself with the razor-sharp spatula. Benefits of using the CFRP Platform: - It's very lightweight and easy to swap/remove. - The platform does not warp, eliminating the need for recalibration. - Use your preferred surface treatment (glue stick works well for all materials, eliminating the need for PEI stickers). - Prints are extremely easy to remove once the platform cools down. - No particle pollution is generated. How to Make & Install: - Download the DXF file. - Send the file to a service bureau, specifying 3.00mm CFRP board. The surface finish does not matter as you'll be using glue stick or PEI sticker on the surface anyway. This step must be done with a factory; routing CFRP yourself is possible but very challenging. Alternatively, use aluminum or glass, but then you're missing the point. - Cost varies depending on the service bureau, but I paid about $30 USD for two sheets made from a Chinese service. To install: - Remove the small plastic part/tab directly above the tactile switch from your Z-Sense. - Take out the Z-Sense leveling screw or move it completely out of the way. - Done! From now on, use the 3 platform screws to level or tune the height of the platform if needed. Troubleshooting: If certain materials (such as Z-HIPS) don't stick to the glue stick, simply raise the platform temperature to 100℃ and they will stick strongly again.
