This is a test for the Z-Suite top skin bug which is still present in v2.15.1, Oct 5th, 2020. This bug dates back to v1.12. This bug flips the sort order of perimeter paths, but just for the top three skin layers. Usually, the slicer prints the perimeter first, but for top skin layers, it prints it last. It gets better, this bug appears at every location of a horizontal feature throughout the 3D model. The result is a bulging band, 3 layers thick, sticking out about 0.14mm on all sides, at every horizontal feature location. It doesn’t matter what slicer settings you use, nor the filament type. I performed the test myself with a layer height of 0.19mm and Z-Ultrat filament. You cannot put a round peg in a round hole… The arrow marks on the 3D models are supposed to indicate the top surfaces, as printed. INSTRUCTIONS 1) Watch your printer run! Especially for the top three layers of every horizontal finished surface. Watch what order the perimeter paths are extruded. 2) Print the set of objects. 3) Try inserting the objects into each other. You will find that the top surfaces have bloated out so it will be difficult to make the parts fit. 4) Try inserting two parts with the arrow marks facing eachother 5) Now try inserting two parts with the arrows facing away from eachother. I’ve included the Autodesk F360 design files you can edit the models. The STLs included in here have an offset of 0.16mm for mating surfaces. No other slicer in the world has this bug!
