Zortrax Enclosure

Summary Lexan panels 2.5mm thick, 320w wide by 355h tall are securely fastened to the robust Zortrax using powerful neodymium magnets held in printed ABS grommet/handles. I used 0.2 x 0.5" N42 magnets from K&J Magnetics since I had a large quantity on hand, but you can easily adapt other magnets as well: http://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=DH28 The grommet is fully editable in Tinkercad here: https://tinkercad.com/things/gHvDPMyHoH6-magnet-grommet The magnet hole is slightly undersized and designed to be drilled out with a 5mm bit for a snug press-fit with the magnets. The grommets fit perfectly into 1/2" holes drilled into the Lexan using a step bit, and can be solvent-welded with MEK or glued with epoxy. Instructions I purchased 18 x 24" Lexan panels from Home Depot. To cut Lexan effectively, you should have access to a large metal shear, a table saw equipped with a fine-toothed blade, or a laser cutter; I used a metal shear which was easy and produced a smooth edge. If you use acrylic (Plexiglas) you can employ the score-and-snap method, but this does not work with Lexan.
