Zora Speedster - Corvette Concept
sketchfab
Back in 1992, well before I went to Design school, a younger me did a rendering of a car dubbed the “Zora Speedster”. I cherish this old rendering because it is signed by the famed “Father of the Corvette” - Zora Arkus-Duntov. Though the drawing was the best I could do at the time, it didn’t age well. This concept is a reboot with the experience I’ve gained in the intervening years. My design is a love letter to the C2 Corvette “Sting Ray”. I understand Bill Mitchell (Designer) and Zora (Engineer) disagreed on some of the elements (split rear window, long hood) of the car, it remains to me (and many others) the best bodystyle to ever wear the badge. I retained some of the iconic aesthetic elements of the 1963-67 Corvette, while interpreting them in new ways. You will see pronounced fender arches, though mine are cantilevered elements floating on 3D printed metal pieces. I decided to “split” the front windscreen. Dual cowl interior theme, redline tires, and LED headlights that hide in plain sight.
