Zopo Mobile or simply Zopo is a Mobile Smartphone maker based in Shenzhen China with a history that dates back to 2012 formally established in 2008 by Mr Kevin Xu. The company specializes in research and development production marketing and service of mobile intelligent terminal products. Its acronym ZOPO stands for Zealous Open Perfect Outstanding. Zopo made headlines in 2012 with the release of their model ZP200, a dual-sim smart phone that featured China's first glasses-free 3D technology. This device proved to be very popular mainly due to its mainland China market appeal. The company gained more attention worldwide in late 2013 when they unveiled the world's first octa-core CPU based smartphone with their model ZP998. It utilized the MediaTek MT6592 SoC a highly sought-after technology at that time making it an instant hit. Zopo pioneered several new milestones including being the first to deliver a Linux Sailfish OS Smartphone in India and establishing retail stores globally with France, Hong Kong Italy Jordan Netherlands Tunisia Malaysia Myanmar Spain experiencing their Zopo products firsthand by June 2015. In 2015 PowerXtend mobile power management system from LucidLogic was integrated into the company's flagship phone the ZP999 showcasing its capabilities of extending battery life. Zopo also expanded further to new markets as announced that a European Operation Center would be launched in the Netherlands mid-year 2015 further establishing its presence in global tech. By end-of-year operations have begun in India Laos following closely Spain where their popularity remains strong.
