In English, it's called a zoetrope or daedalum, a strobe machine created by William George Horner in 1834, consisting of a circular drum with cuts through which the viewer looks to see the drawings arranged in strips inside the drum, as they rotate, give the illusion of movement. It was inspired by the phenakistiscope but, unlike this one, it allowed several people to contemplate it at the same time. Its creator gave it its original name, "daedaleum", referring to the Greek architect Daedalus, creator of the labyrinth of Crete and supposed inventor of human and animal images with movement. It was a very popular toy in its time and one of the advances towards the appearance of cinema created in the first half of the 19th century. They were famous and an inspiration for the creation of what we know as film today, because it's the same principle, a succession of images that tell a story.
