Zoomorph N of Quirigua

myminifactory

The shape of Zoomorph N is unmistakably turtle-like, with heads emerging from both ends. One end features a skull that's been rotated 45° at an odd angle; the other end sports the head of a comical old man sporting a cloth hat or hair-net, complete with human-like arms. This venerable old fellow is none other than God N, also known as Pauahtun, who serves as patron deity to writers and scribes alike. In his role as the four Bakabs, he's tasked with holding up the sky at each of the cardinal points, keeping the universe secure. A shell adorns his back, representing the Earth, making him the literal bearer of the world.
