Zoom H1 Shock Mount
thingiverse
I was searching for a way to mount my Zoom H1 recorder securely and stylishly to my mic stand, preferably something that resembled regular studio equipment. I had checked out some other mounts on the site, but none fit my needs perfectly. To solve this problem, I designed a mount that uses standard rubber bands as shock absorbers and secures the H1 with a camera 1/4-20 thumbscrew. This ensures the recorder can be positioned freely without worrying about it sliding out of its holder. The H1 can be removed from the mount while keeping the inner part attached to the outer ring, allowing access to all controls. I included tunnels on both sides to prevent rubbing against the buttons located on the H1's sides. Although this design doesn't allow for side button access, I rarely use those during recording sessions. Future redesigns might incorporate external buttons that can control the H1's functions. The mount is designed to be printed without support, but depending on your printer, you may need internal support within the holes. I'm using the InnerGear Microphone Stand, Model MU01, which this mount replaces. The original screw is reused for attachment. To secure the rubber bands, a toothpick or similar rod can be used; I'm employing short pieces of filament instead.
