Small holder ensures tiles stay secure during gameplay, but requires careful placement to avoid scratching them. A precautionary measure is adding tape to the tile corners, which I've done due to my tiles' peeling outer layer. The middle holders are split in two and glued together later since they don't need supports. To complete regular missions, you'll need 4 of these middle holders (8 halves) and 8 corner pieces.
