Zojirushi Thermos Replacement Latch
thingiverse
I'm pushing the limits of obscure parts now. This replacement latch fits my Zojirushi Thermos (16oz). The broken latch that holds the lid closed cracked along the hinge-pin hole. I lost the little piece that broke, so I modeled a new one using my 3D printer skills. It turned out great and works perfectly, which is always satisfying. I'm posting it here for fellow humans who own a 3D printer, frequent Thingiverse, and have a Zojirushi Thermos with a broken latch. I apologize for the lack of pictures or instructions - I didn't expect this to work first time and don't want to take things back apart to photograph them. The basic idea is to separate the two halves of the lid (a little prying will get you there). Then push out the pin and install the new latch (don't forget the spring). Finally, smoosh the two lid halves back together and Bob is your uncle. Print Settings: Supports: It doesn't matter. Resolution: I used 0.1mm layers. Infill: Solid Notes: No support needed, although there is some bridging at the top. How I Designed This I created this design in Fusion 360 - my first real experience with a CAD program as I've previously designed all my other models using Sketchup. Fusion 360 is really awesome once you get behind its design philosophy.
