ZOHD Drift custom motor mount
thingiverse
Please read all notes: I discovered a severe down-pitch moment when opening the throttle on my ZOHD Drift. I carefully inspected the thrust-line and confirmed that it was spot-on the CG. To further investigate, I designed various motor-mounts to see if I could improve the issue. After experimenting and test flying, I created a 3D printed mount with a 3.5-degree downward angle from the original design. This modification greatly improved the performance. If you choose to use the provided .stl file, it's essential to slice it with a brim enabled. Without this precaution, the bottom of the print may warp significantly. To avoid this issue, I've included a gcode file that has brim enabled at a resolution of 0.12. Before inserting the new mount, drill a precise hole for the retaining screw (clearly marked) on your workbench using a 1.6/1.7mm or 1/16" drill bit. Due to its angle, ensure you insert the mount with the correct side facing up. The motor should lean slightly forward. I employed PLA+ for this project, which may be too brittle for standard PLA. Use caution when selecting your material and proceed at your own risk.
