ZOHD Dart XL Nacelle / Twin Motor Modd
thingiverse
[Update: This plane with its huge control surfaces is able to do tailsitter vtol launches and landings, it can hover almost like quad. Use the downward angled (2.5°) motorplates (same nacelle)][Update after ~3 Hours of Flight: Right now it's powered with 2306 2500KV, 4S (4Ah) and 6045 3Blades. With that, it reaches 140 km/h whille consuming ~50Amps.If you use differential thrust, stay below 0.5 with the mix. Mine is still at .75 making it a bit dangerous to touch the yaw.I cannot tell if it flies better than the rear motor setup because I never tried, but I can tell that it flies good and well behaved even in stronger Winds. It's easy to force it into some sort of stalling with a yaw spin with differential thrust, but it recovers easily. Starting is a peace of cake thanks to the front motors]Tractor conversion for Dart XL. For 6" Props, ~2204 - 2306 Motors. To get the cg right, everything should move a bit to the rear. The rear is now a good place for the gps (while the normal GPS place is far away from the FC), but then, something has to be done to get rid of the rear hatch magnets. The rear hatch can be much smaller now (wich looks good) because there is no 50A ESC anymore wich could requiere cooling. My 4S 4Ah Battery with a weight of 400g (and 135mm length) sits almost in the middle, leaving about 30 mm Space to the main cf rod. Wich means, that I can still add a little weight to the nose (wich is already equipped with a walksnail Pro Cam) before the cg gets it into trouble. Unfortunally, I cannot provide the rear hatch stl, because I don't have one. This is a slice of a flat hatch from thingiverse (most of it is under the virtual Print table) and an own upscaled stl just place inside the other for gcode generation.(https://cults3d.com/de/modell-3d/spiel/zohd-dart-xl-flat-back-hood-hdzero-vtx-insert-walksnail-vtx-insert-front-hood-motor-mount)It is held in place by a rubber band now, so that it keeps connected to the plane when the hatch pops off. I included the rubber anchor (wich also serves as a gps holder and is now in the place of the old motor holder.I included the dxf with what I used for the wing profile cutout. There is stilll a little gap at the front. But instead of buildung another round of templates, I decided to put a little hot glue in there. I used 9° as the value for the wing sweep-forward.What's still needed: a better FlatHatch.https://youtu.be/A_5x-kp-5j4
