Zohd Dart XL Motor Mount
thingiverse
I've remixed the Great Dart XL motor mount to better bond with my fuselage, so I angled the rear deck to match its slope. The motor mount plate wasn't aligned with mine either, so I adjusted it until they matched up perfectly - now it fits snugly within a couple of degrees in any direction. To ensure a secure fit, I changed the holes to 2mm, which you'll need to drill out yourself. I think this is a better idea because you can get a perfect fit for self-tapping screws or drill them out for cap heads and nuts. I also lowered the canopy holes so that it sits properly on my fuselage. If you check out the pictures, you'll see that you'll need to shave the foam like I did to make it sit down - only two small cuts are required. For bonding, I'll be using UHU Por. To give you more options, I've added a model with 5-degree tilt, which I haven't printed yet, but I don't see why it wouldn't work just as well as the flat one. I made only a few minor changes to this great original design from its creator. Most of my remix was dedicated to changing the model back to solid, so I've posted all the original files to make it easier for you to remix - shame more designers don't post their step files! Edit 10/11/2019: I designed a canopy that works with this motor mount. Check out https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3968605
