Zoetrope
thingiverse
I didn't find a strobe light and since I'm not very good at electronics, I abandoned that idea and went with a single dimmable RGBW LED strip instead. All zoetrops are remixes suitable for Ø160mm with support for my engine. I found a motor with variable speed here: https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/4000464216357.html Here's a video that shows how it works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbVQdfynw1g and another one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7v01Rgxuyc4&t=23s. The images you see are not the ones we see with our eyes directly! The cameras capture an image that corresponds to the strobe effect if the correct setting is found. I used a GoRo 5 and set it up like this: Resolution: 1080P or 2.7K IPS: 24 frames per second CDV: Linear BB: 6500K or native ISO: 400 Obtur: 1/192 or more if you can (1/4000) For more technical information, check out these addresses: https://www.instructables.com/id/Blooming-Zoetrope-Sculptures/ http://www.johnedmark.com/#/phi/ https://www.novatropes.com Thanks to: Novatropes for https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3907796 Novatropes for https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3912454 Hwiguna for https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2572626 Sirofsky for https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3140753 As for printing, I found that the model with cubes is very difficult to print. My settings are: Wall 3 Top layer 4 Layer 0.2 Infill 40% Time 29 hours The other models didn't give me any trouble, so make sure to activate the supports for the hearts when printing those.
