This adapter lets you use a standard, one piece, 1 1/2 inch pool vacuum hose. Got tired of replacing the garbage, expensive, short hoses that come with the MX8 every year. I bought a 35 foot hose a few years ago at Lowe's or Home Depot and cut it to length. The cut end of the hose screws into the threaded part of the adapter and the uncut end goes to the standard filter connection in the pool. Still like new even though it has been in the pool 24/7 the whole time. This is threaded so the vacuum hose screws into the adapter.To quickly disconnect unscrew the hose from the adapter.The adapter stays attached to the MX8 so you do not need to mess with unscrewing the M4 screws.To assemble, put the 2 half circle pieces on the MX8.Then slip the full circle hose connector over the two half pieces... the cut outs with the screw holes help everything line up easily.Needs two M4x10mm screws.Tap the holes for the M4 screws and you do not need any nuts secure.I used PETG because of the sun and chemicals.You need;1x the hose connector2x the half circle pieces2x M4x10 Stainless steel screwsBest to tap the holes for the M4 screws before assembly on the MX8
