The Zodiac Killer, identified as code name "Z-13" or simply Zodiac, was a notorious serial killer who terrorized the San Francisco Bay Area from December 1968 to October 1969. Active between at least December and October of those years, he is known for killing seven people while wounding several others. During this time, Zodiac Killer taunted authorities with letters that included cryptograms which remain unsolved until today. The exact identity remains a mystery, as there are several individuals believed to be the killer due to similarities between their handwriting and evidence left at the crime scenes.
