ZMR 250 motor-protector zip-tied
thingiverse
After flying nearly a year, the lower bearings of my DYS BE1806 motors on my ZMR250 have finally given out. One motor's bearing has completely broken off. I suspect it's because all that mud is getting into the bearing through the holes in the ZMR250 arm. So, I designed a motor protector that fits onto the arm without removing any of the motor screws. You just slip the protector on and zip-tie it in place. Be aware there are two versions available: one for 1806 motors and a larger one that fits up to 2205 motors, both designed for 3mm arms. The protector covers the hole where the motor shaft goes through and all the motor screws, keeping them clean and dry. No more dirty hex screws or mud on the motor shaft and bearings. Print this upright as shown in the STL file. Use PLA or TPU for the best results.
