The goal was to design something that would help people with paralysis/arthritis zip up their coat zipper. I have designed a simple zipper-funnel mechanism that allows the user to slide each side of the coat in and guide the zipper pin into the zipper itself. The issue that I’m having is you need two hands to fit both sides of the coat in, but you also need to zip up the zipper. If I had more time, I would design a mechanism that latches onto the coat for you so you don't have to hold it down. Therefore, making it easy to zip up the zipper once its in that position.
