I designed my jacket's faulty zipper by creating one from scratch, after printing a replacement from Thingiverse only to find it incompatible due to differences in my zipper type. Undeterred, I forged ahead, designing a customized new slider with an attached handle. To ensure this slider would work on other spiral zips the same size (a size 5), I made some tweaks and tested extensively.
