# Zimmerit ## Anti-Magnetic Paste for MENG 1:35 Scale Sd. Kfz. 171 Panther Ausf. A (Late) Plastic Model Kit According to "Panther External Appearance & Design Changes" by Roddy MacDougall & Martin Block (2016; Abteilung 502, La Rioja, Spain), Zimmerit was a waterproof, permanent paste designed to defeat magnetic mines used by enemy infantry. This paste served as a thick barrier of Barium Sulphate applied to all vertical surfaces on German tanks during World War II. The paste consisted of two layers: a thin base coat followed by a thicker final layer. A texturing process was pressed into the surface of the final layer to prevent it from falling off during combat.
