ZIM high capacity filament socket
thingiverse
Here's a funny little gadget using big filament spools with ZIM. I rummaged through my toolbox, grabbed 4 threaded bars M8x160mm, some M8 Nuts and a handful of small screws, along with a few scraps of wood lying around... Then I drilled a hole through ZIM's base, stuck a Polyamide tube through it (no Teflon tubes on hand), and voilà! IT WORKS! So now my next step is to rebuild this more beautifully, adding the cover... First things first, I'm thinking of getting those filament drives relocated above the platform, which should tidy up everything nicely. But for now, all these cables have got to be extended and plugged in properly, and that's just a task that I really don't feel like doing...
