Zic - The Spiritual Cat

I'm diving headfirst into 2021 with a personal project that's been brewing in my mind. The challenge was to take an idea from concept to completion in just a few days, which pushed me to stay focused and work efficiently. It took around 15 hours of non-stop sculpting over the course of six days to bring Zic to life. As a newborn spirit, Zic is bursting with energy and can't sit still - he's constantly exploring his surroundings and discovering new wonders. My goal was to capture this sense of curiosity in every detail of his design. For this project, I relied on my trusty trio of creative tools: Zbrush for its incredible sculpting capabilities, Maya for its flexibility in refining the character's shape, and Substance Painter for adding depth and texture to his world.
