This connector is compatible with regular craft sticks. The downloadable file has two models - one featuring cruciform holes and the other with straight ones. For those who fail to resist Platonic Love, visit this link (http://zheng3.com/?p=1955). No assembly required; simply print the connectors then join them using craft sticks. Note that the cruciform holes may overhang a bit when printed on a Replicator but powder printers should have no issues with it.
