Zeus Sculpture (Statue 3D Scan)
thingiverse
I am creating a 3D replica of the iconic Zeus Statue, turning it into a tangible reality that can be printed at home. I started by making the file compatible with 3D printing technology and using MeshMixer to edit and refine the source material. To enhance the scan data, I carefully removed unnecessary background elements and filled in holes, smoothing out rough edges and giving the sculpture more defined features. Additionally, I reworked the rear portion of the statue where there was a noticeable gap in the scan data. A key step involved plane-cutting to create a stable flat base, ensuring that the print job remains sturdy and level. Further modifications included some selective remeshing to reduce the file size while preserving the integrity of the design, making it more suitable for printing with 3D technology. The original raw source file can be found online at 123dapp.com and www.3dwp.nl
