Zeus Panzermech Bolt action/Konflikt 47 proxy
thingiverse
This is my first model i have made from scratch. Made it in Tinkercad. The main body was inspired by a Tiger tank. I made this as a proxy to replace the Zeus Panzermech from Konflikt 47. I am not 100% how the scale holds up, as at the point i made it, do not have a Zeus to compare it too. Feedback on the scale would be appreciated. --- PLEASE REVIEW UPDATES. --- UPDATE: 03/Feb/20 I have corrected part of the main body, there where floating bolts, that needed realigning. i also made the detail on the radiation tanks bulkier to improve printing on FDM. Cura even at .1mm was previewing poorly on it. Unfortunately, Tinkercad crashed while exporting the updated file losing the legs and the gun. I was able to re-import them from older files, but i no longer have the ability to adjust them piece by piece, as they are solid models now. To do major adjustments i would need to recreate them. So if i was to need to do anything drastic, they will end up looking a bit different. --- UPDATE 04/Feb/20 I went back and checked the scale against some other files from here, designed to be bolt action scale, and found that what i had was quite small, so i have scaled it up. I did a test print of the old gun on my Ender 3 at .1mm, with a miniatures profile for Cura (Fat dragon games) i printed it vertically, and found the gun barrel was WAY too thin to FDM print, and was riddled with blobs. So decided to redo the entire gun so its bigger and thicker. Since this model is a tank hunter it makes sense to me, and bigger guns is awesome :P I also decided that since i was there, i would redo the legs too, they dont jut out as far, and i now have the ability to fully rework as need be since the issues i had with Tinkercad. I also scaled up some of the other detail to help it print on an FDM printer. Hopefully the next test print will go better. I have included the old files in a Rar file in case anyone wanted them. --- UPDATE 04/Feb/20 Noticed the body was too low to allow the gun to do a 360 past the legs. Should be ok now. Also adjusted the underside a little to make it look neater since its a bit higher. Higher body is V2, i left the lower one in for those who may prefer it. Original gun should fit fine. --- UPDATE 05/Feb/20 OK i got my first test print done!! Found a slight gap in the front panel, thats now been corrected. I printed the Gun, vertically at .1mm using the Fat dragon games cura profile for the Ender 3. And the body at .16mm blocking supports for the front of the feet, as Cura wanted to support each one of those nubs. I did lose detail under the chassis, due to drooping, and had a bit to sand off due to support material. I used tree supports, so they where super easy to remove. The handles on the bottles on the back, had supports under them, that was a bit of a pain to remove, the underside of the exhaust is a bit bleh but sanded up ok. And the pipes at the back of the bottles has a little support material i needed to pick out. I am thinking of breaking it up into a multi part kit, but i wont be doing that until the scale is confirmed to be correct to the model its proxying for. Some tiny detail was lost, so i plan to go back at some point and make the detail a bit chunkier, so it shows better on FDM. I might do that tomorrow. But will update when done. Here is a pic to how it looks printed. https://i.imgur.com/Yl9QAeh.jpg
